About the role
 

As a Food Technologist, you will be the custodian of our product integrity, ensuring safety, legality, and quality. You will manage Harrods suppliers for our own label fresh, ambient products, and kitchen ingredients, driving continuous improvement and sustainability within our supply chain.
 

You will also be responsible for:

• Safety & Quality - Ensure products meet exceptional quality standards, investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Food Law & Governance - Stay current with industry laws, maintain due diligence, and ensure accurate product information.
• Suppliers - Approve and assess suppliers, conduct audits, and verify compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Product Development - Manage technical aspects of the NPD process, ensuring safety and quality standards, and verify compliance with company standards.

About you
 

We are seeking a highly qualified Food Technologist who holds a degree in Food Science, Technology, or a related field. You will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in retail or manufacturing, with a robust knowledge of Food Safety Management Systems and supplier auditing. Proficiency in HACCP and specification management is essential, and having experience as a lead auditor is highly desirable. You should be detail-oriented, knowledgeable in food safety protocols, and capable of ensuring product quality and compliance.
 

Qualities you will also have:

• Experience in managing a wide portfolio of products across different categories.
• ​Proven track record of developing site standards and working with SMEs (BRC manufacturing, Agents and Brokers experience preferable).
• Analytical skills and able to think strategically.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Agile with the flexibility to travel and occasionally work on weekends.
