Harrods is looking for exceptional graduates to join our IT department, working for the world famous Luxury department store! 

The Department:

Our ever growing IT department at Harrods is undergoing tremendous change to support our customers’ unique needs. As well as being our core foundation, we are increasingly incorporating technology into the way we reach, engage and secure our global customer base.

The Programme:

The Harrods IT Graduate programme consists of four 6 month placements around the various teams, giving you a well-rounded insight into the growing technological landscape within Harrods.

Moving around the teams you will gain exposure to both the technical and non-technical areas of the department. From Project Management and Business Analysis to large scale ERP and POS systems; you will gain an in-depth understanding of how the various teams and systems function and interact. The programme will be tailored to where your interests, skills and strengths are, allowing you to identify a rewarding and sustainable career path in IT.

As a graduate coming into Harrods you will have the opportunity to attend workshops, deliver projects and gain experience in our business areas such as e-commerce, buying and distribution. This will give you an understanding of how we utilise technology to provide the customer with an exceptional in-store and online experience.

You will develop strong leadership and communication skills through both formal courses and on the job learning. Through mentoring from senior managers and tailored training you will be supported to develop your technical and professional knowledge. Applying this to the current portfolio of high profile projects and initiatives within Harrods will ensure that your skills are transferable and your understanding is sound.  

Candidate Characteristics:

To be successful, you will have graduated in the past 2 years with a minimum 2:1 in a relevant degree subject and will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven ability to work well as a team member and leader
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • An organised and analytical approach to problem solving
  • A passion and understanding of technology

The Application Process:

  • An online application form
  • If successful, you will then be invited to complete a short video interview which can be completed at a time convenient for you
  • Following a successful video interview, you will then be invited to a full-day Assessment Centre in our Head Office based in Hammersmith, London. The Assessment Centre will include a face-to-face interview and a number of group and individual exercises and will take place on Friday 16th March 2018.
