Senior Mechanical & Electrical Project Manager

About the Role

Our Store Development team is looking for a Senior M&E Project Manager.  In this client-facing role, you will be responsible for managing all M&E projects from a strategic perspective.  You’ll build relationships with stakeholders including Harrods engineering consultant teams (HIS, Fire, Health & Safety, Security) and contractors in order to service our portfolio.  You’ll partner with the engineering and facilities team to ensure high quality and maintainable delivery, whilst working on new, sustainable solutions as part of impressive ways for our clients to shop. 

You will provide direct management of all mechanical, electrical, public health and lighting in the full delivery of all services, ensuring all installations meet requirements.  You will assemble design teams and invite proposals for financial review, analyse schemes presented by M&E consultants for Harrods capital funded projects, supplier funded projects and combined funded projects, and establish capital warrant sums for project work.  Working this team-oriented environment, you’ll be supported and valued in a trusting team environment. 

Excitingly, you will join Harrods during the early stages of ‘By Appointment’ – a new service which creates the most elite shopping experience in the world.  We have been working on this with a sustainable mindset and need your expertise to reduce the overall energy and carbon output of the project.

About You

You’ll be from an design consultancy background, having worked client-side, or with client-facing experience for a substantial part of your career.  You’ll be a strong communicator, have the gravitas to influence in project design and implementation, and have an aesthetic eye when managing all M&E projects. 

You’ll pride yourself on the standard and reputation of your work, being determined to exceed expectations and make the impossible happen. You’ll be highly organised with excellent communication skills, able to exhibit tact and diplomacy at times of ambiguity.

You’ll also have  –

• Ideally, an engineering, design or related degree (or equivalent working experience in a client-management role)
• Practical experience in construction and project management from inception to completion
• Experience of project delivery: time, budget and quality
• Strong analytical skills and eye for detail
