An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Food Supply Chain Transformation Lead to join our Harrods team. The purpose of the role is to help define the total food supply chain architecture, the target operating model for Retail, Restaurants, Wholesale and Manufacturing elements of the food business, and the capabilities we need to deliver a step change in performance ensuring the supply chain is scalable and future-ready for new channels, products, propositions and the food sustainability agenda. The role will own the food supply chain transformation workstream and drive a number of supply chain initiatives simultaneously across S&OP, the digital information flow and the physical supply chain flow. The role will extend into Programme Delivery Management and continuous improvement.

Principal accountabilities revolve around both transformation and delivery.

  • Ownership of the strategic level problem solving in complex environments to determine appropriate supply chain solutions based on sound understanding of the business
  • Developing an in depth understanding of company culture, its operation, and the individuals to generate new ideas and find solutions to challenges both project and business related
  • Responsible for carrying out market analysis and benchmark best practices that can be applied to the Harrods Food supply chain
  • Identify mechanisms to translate optimization opportunities into practical execution plans; lead and support execution depending on the nature and scope of the change through project management principles
  • Accountable to deliver results that fully meet key users’ requirements
  • Lead the implementation process for the overall and individual transformation, using and developing the established project management process
  • Identify and set up appropriate metrics to assess process efficiency, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Ensure a well-managed period of high care post-implementation and smooth handover into BAU operational teams
  • Recommend changes in working practices and patterns to improve output and reduce costs
  • Collect and analyses data to measure the effectiveness of existing business processes to develop sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements
  • Determine how new technologies can support re-engineering of business processes and ways of working to improve the effectiveness of the supply chain and retail teams
  • Lead transformation workstream and initiatives through the design, build and test phases

About you

A clear communicator who has confidence in speaking to both internal and external stakeholders. You will have the ability to multitask and work towards many KPIs in different categories. With a keen eye for detail, you will enjoy monitoring, reporting and investigating.

Communication is key in this role as you will be liaising with the buying team, supplies, retail, restaurants and kitchens. You will also be responsible for driving vendor compliance which requires someone with the ability to build strong relationships. More specifically, we’re looking for someone:

  • Knowledge in SAP
  • With the confidence to have challenging conversations with stakeholders
  • You are highly independent, self-motivated, and prepared to be hands on to 'get the job done'
  • Certified in Lean Six Sigma or other methodologies from a reputable institute or organization will be an advantage
  • Proven experience leading change initiatives and delivering tangible business value
  • Strong analytical skills, able to conduct analysis, create business cases and benefit tracking
  • Demonstrates learning agility to continuously improve and adapt, with a passion for learning more about the Supply Chain, particularly in Harrods and especially for food & beverages, to become a recognized Subject Matter Expert.
  • Leads and directing activity across multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix structure
