As the Ingredients Assistant Buyer you will assist the Ingredients Buyer who is responsible for the sourcing and commercials of all ingredients for the Harrods kitchens in Knightsbridge (production, pastry and restaurant) as well as the UK external sites (i.e. H Beauty sites). You will assist the Ingredients Buyer with product selection, commercial negotiations and onboarding new ingredients and suppliers. You will work closely with the Chefs, Buying Admin and Supply Chain teams to optimise the end-to-end life cycle of products within the business.

About You

As this role will support the Ingredients Buyer, you will work closely with our Chefs team in the procurement of products and ingredients that will supply our growing number of exciting restaurants. You will assist the Buyer with developing and driving category strategy, product selection & development. You will also assist with supplier management and, where relevant, concession development and management. The role also involves providing support to the Buyer with the execution of the fresh ingredients strategy. You will work closely with Buying Admin and Supply Chain teams to optimise the end-to-end life cycle of products within the business.

You will need to have excellent time-management skills and the ability and willingness to multi-task. You must have strong commercial and business acumen, as well as excellent numeracy and analytical skills. You will need to be PC literate, especially with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. 

Please note that you may be required to travel, on occasion, to buying appointments and vendor meetings, and to work weekends during buying trips, or during periods of sale.
