Our Culinary team are now looking for a Master Roaster to join our world-class Food Halls.
You’ll be responsible for creating magical, memorable moments of delight. You’ll do this by providing a world class customer service, demonstrating passion and enthusiasm in the world of coffee & market trends, and by building quality customer relationships to achieve business goals whilst being an ambassador for the Harrods brand.


About the Role 

As the Master Roaster, you’ll be required to coordinate and build relationships with our Buyers and our exporting and production partners to ensure that Harrods are at the forefront of our sector by consistently selecting exceptional, high-quality, exciting coffee. On a day to day basis, you’ll be working in our in-store roastery to lead regular cupping sessions of our feature coffees to ensure quality levels are maintained, train and develop our in-house baristas, evaluate and arbiter coffee samples and overall ensure that the finished product is of the highest quality and fit for sale at Harrods.
As the expert in your field, you will lead on setting our coffee strategy within our retail and restaurant business areas at Harrods. By working cross-functionally you’ll ensure that our commercial goals are being met whilst also meeting our sustainability targets.

About You 

You will be passionate and knowledgeable about coffee, and be eager to share your passion with the team around you to develop and mentor where needed. You will be required to regularly taste product so you’ll need to have an excellent palate with advance cupping experience and be a certified Q Grader (or equivalent). You’ll also need to be SCA trained (including a professional qualification) and be confident in using Cropster.
You will also need to be an excellent communicator and be able to build relationships easily both with internal and external stakeholders. Being commercially astute with strong Microsoft Excel skills is also required.
