Senior Platform Lead

We are looking for a Senior Platform Lead  to join our team in Harrods. The role is an exciting opportunity to become an expert on your platform and the industry landscape it sits in, and will be the driver for positive transformation.

About the Role

As the Senior Platform Lead you will be take full technical ownership of the digital solutions and applications that sit across the Harrods Customer, Product and Corporate domains. You will coach, support and lead a small team who each specialise in their own assigned areas and systems. You will work alongside Product Managers, Engineering teams, and a range of third parties, to deliver best in class solutions.

This role will require you to own the technical solution from being the face of the service within Harrods, ensuring functional needs are met while supporting scalability, reliability, and performance of the system.

You will also:

• Working alongside Product Owners and Delivery Leads, use insight and analysis to identify, prioritise and implement new opportunities and improvements that align with the commercial objectives of the Harrods business strategy, and the technical objectives of the Harrods IT Strategy.
• Work with the Development and DevOps teams to ensure adequate monitoring for each solution is in place, and that the necessary processes and procedures are in place to respond to alerts and incidents, whether that’s within business hours or during out of hours callouts to the on-call team.
• Ensure all issues are logged with resolution details, reviewed and published to empower downstream all the way to the user.
• Measuring and reviewing operational performance against SLAs and NFRs, and where relevant ensuring third party vendors meet their contractual commitments.
• Manage and mentor the Platform Lead team in line with Harrods values, maintaining a clear talent plan with appropriate training and/or certification options, developing the team to reach their potential and deliver excellent results.

About You

As the Senior Platform Lead you will have strong organisational skills and have a strong work ethic to able you to juggle multiple projects and meet multiple deadlines. You will have clear communication skills both written and verbal.

You will be an expert in gathering and analysing requirements for large IT projects, with the ability to identify, track, and monitor technical dependencies across systems.

You will also have the following:

• Good understanding of software development life cycle.
• Experience with any major fitness, wellness or beauty experience platform in a Product or Service capacity.
• Familiar with agile development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.
• Good knowledge of current web technologies.
• Previous experience in maintaining documentation and performing code reviews.
• Previous experience performing code reviews and contributing architecture designs.
• Passionate about technology.
