Our Thatcham based Transport Department is now looking for an Experienced Transport Manager to join them at their state-of-the-art distribution hub.


About The Role

The Transport Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the Harrods Transport Department Operation, ensuring full and clear compliance in line with the Goods Vehicle Operator Licence and the DVSA Earned Recognition Scheme.


In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the Harrods fleet vehicles (Thatcham, Knightsbridge and subsidiaries) are maintained and are in good working by investigating inspection/service reports as required by the Department of Transport.
  • Working with the Transport Department Trainer, ensure all transport staff are trained and adhere to all legal and company requirements with reference to vehicles, equipment and company policies, this includes regular assessments of drivers, tool box talks and Driver CPC training.
  • Working with the Transport Compliance Coordinator, ensure there are no infringements of the Road and Traffic Acts, reporting to the relevant teams as and when occurrences take place along with remedial action.
  • Ensuring that all Transport compliance is regularly reviewed in line with Transport Office requirements to include periodic (weekly and monthly) reporting.
  • Working with the Transport team to ensure insurance claims and accident reporting is fully investigated and reported.
  • Point of contact for all Transport enquires, arranging any additional requirements outside of core offerings in line with operational requirements.

About You

 
The right candidate for this position must hold a National Certificate of Professional Competence in Road Transport Operations and be able to demonstrate full continuous personal development including bi-annual Transport Management learning.


Prior operational experience of working in a Transport Office is essential and preferably within retail operation. You must have a good understanding of the DVSA Earned Recognition scheme (or equivalent, such as FORS)
