We are recruiting for a brand new role as an Assistant Buyer for our Technology team. Due to the success and growth of our Technology and Toys Buying team, we have decided to split the team in two for the first time, enabling us to recruit for this new, exciting role. If you are currently an Assistant Buyer, with knowledge of the Technology category, this is a great opportunity to support the ongoing development of our Technology offering.
About the Role
Our Technology department here at Harrods is the biggest “shop within a shop” across the whole of Europe. Encompassing unique, sort after luxury brands as well as household names, you will lead a Senior Buyer’s Clerk in delivering the department strategy alongside our Buyer.
You'll be part of one of the most exciting and fast-moving departments on the world, ensuring the smooth running of the Buying offices in addition to building and maintaining strong relationships with our internal teams as well as external suppliers and stakeholders. The category encompasses not only own bought brands but a large selection of concessions, allowing you exposure to both operating models as well as dot com.
As an Assistant Buyer, you will:
- Work closely with the Buyer. assisting with product selection, attending buying appointments and filling out details on the Buyer's Sheet.
- Manage the critical path
- Review samples
- Provide the Buyer with market information: identifying new opportunities.
- Assist in the planning and select of brands/products
- Attend brand meetings when needed
About You
You will be an Assistant Buyer, or Senior Buyer’s Admin Assistant ready to take the next step. Hailing from a multi-brand department store or a standalone Technology brand, you will be well versed in the Buying Cycle and the nuances that come with the category.
We are looking for someone who has a passion for the department, understands our Harrods Customer and the journey we want to take them on whilst shopping with us - you will use these attributes to take our Technology category to the next level. You will be detail orientated and a motivating leader, who is not afraid to get stuck in and able to inspire your team along the way.
You will possess
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Prior experience in Branded Buying & the management of Concession Brands.
- Impeccable time management skills
- The ability to support, delegate and inspire others
- Stakeholder management skills
- Excellent decision making & negotiation capabilities.
