We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Buyer to support our Furniture (Home) division in delivering an exceptional product offering across multiple channels. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract until September 2026.

About the Role

As an Assistant Buyer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Buyer through the full buying cycle, ensuring the right product mix is selected, delivered, and performing in line with business goals. You’ll be immersed in market trends, supplier relationships, and in-season trading activity while helping to drive commercial success across stores, online, and airports.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with product selection, quantifying orders, and managing product information.
  • Coordinating and attending buying appointments, trade meetings, and concession walkthroughs.
  • Monitoring deliveries, resolving issues, and ensuring stock arrives on time across channels.
  • Analysing sales performance to recommend re-orders, swaps, or returns to vendors.
  • Building and maintaining strong brand relationships to drive trade and secure exclusive products.

Depending on your role, you may be fully on-site or have a mix of on-site and home working – this is what we refer to as ‘Hybrid’. Our hybrid working policy allows colleagues to work from home for part of the week, with a minimum of three days on-site, depending on business needs.

About You

You will thrive in a fast-paced luxury retail environment where attention to detail and commercial awareness are key. With a natural flair for building relationships and an analytical mindset, you will be confident working across multiple priorities while always keeping the customer at the heart of your decisions. You’ll bring energy, organisation, and a collaborative spirit to help deliver an outstanding product offer that enhances our reputation for excellence.

You must have:

  • Previous experience in buying, especially within luxury or premium retail.
  • Buying experience in Home/Furniture (preferable)
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
