Assistant Roaster

We are recruiting for a passionate Assistant Roaster to join our famous Food Halls.

You’ll be responsible for creating magical, memorable moments of delight and provide a world class customer service, demonstrating passion and enthusiasm in the world of coffee & market trends and building quality customer relationships to achieve business goals whilst being an ambassador for the Harrods brand.

You’ll be a product expert and be responsible for producing exceptional products and service to delight our customers. You will also be working with the Retail Manager to build collaborative relationships with Buying, Supply, NPD, Food Safety & Stock Operations.

About you

With a background in customer service , ideally within restaurants and kitchen environment, our expectations, standards, and pace will stretch and develop you. We’re a friendly team that works together and shares the pressures, but don’t under-estimate the challenges. Ours is a fast-paced environment and you’ll need:

· Responsible for ensuring accurate end to end process of roasting coffee beans within Harrods for sale to the Customer in the Food halls and Restaurants

· Produce & deliver the roasting schedule that meets the needs of the business and is compliant with retail

· Ensuring the availability of the full range of products for our customers

· Responsible for ensuring that the finished product is of the highest quality and fit for sale within Harrods.

· Be able to confidently Roast all different blends

· Carrying out tastings alongside the technical team to ensure achievement of quality is agreed,

· Agree Roast profiles with Buying & technical and set up specifications in Cropster.

· Stock management (including though not exclusive to picking stock, stock transfers etc)

· Build strong relationships with Stakeholders

· Adhere to all Food and Safety procedures

· Adhere to all Health and Safety procedures

· Adhere to stock control guidelines.

· Be fully participative in all external training opportunities funded by the business and actively demonstrate the acquired skills and knowledge

· Conduct any basic operational checks on the Roaster as directed by Coffeetech.

· Support and advise VM on POS and merchandising to maximise the products potential

· Work closely with the buying team to ensure that customer needs and expectations are being met with the products being stocked

· Ensure accurate stock levels are regularly reported to supply and acquire accurate delivery dates

· Ensuring the roastery, equipment and tools are kept clean on a daily basis
