Buyer's Clerk

Our Buying Office delivers a business critical and industry leading section of our business. They work to deliver an accurate and smooth delivery of suitable stock, tailored to suit of personalised business categories in our diverse and eclectic retail store offering. Harrods would not be the brand it is known as today without the carefully calculated selections and delivery our buying team’s delivery each day to ensure our customers have access to the most prestigious names and items in retail. We are looking for an organised and diligent Buying Clerk to join our Menswear Designer Collections & Menswear Essentials team, this is an exciting development opportunity for a candidate with buying clerk experience to join a cutting-edge brand and collaborative team.

About you

You’ll be a passionate ambassador of fashion and a foundation of knowledge of buying trends, typical current and applicable for luxury retail categories such as ours. You’ll be proficient in excel, naturally numerate with good experience in an admin heavy but fast paced work environment.

Hardworking, self-motivated and conscientious, you use your excellent organisation skills to support your colleagues. You will pride yourself on your approach to building trusted relationships, creating clear lines of communication across all channels and be able to manage queries from both vendors and internal stakeholders. Meticulous in your approach, you always have the highest of standards in mind.

What to expect

In this role you will work collaboratively to provide vital administrative support to the Buyer and Assistant Buyer, ensuring the smooth running of the Buying Office.  You will support the management and rapid flow through of stock from the vendor to the shop floor and/or Harrods.com, in order to maximise sales and deliver a seamless and suitable supply. You’ll learn from the best on luxury brand buying successes and trends and have the opportunity and exposure to work across 3 of our most prestigious categories, Designer collections, Mens essentials as well as our a new category for swimwear and resort!

We always work collaboratively across the wider business and although sometimes we can be very busy, we always pull together as a team to hit deadlines. Our team look after a lot of customer orders and work closely with both the retail team and our brands to fulfil bespoke requests and make sure we deliver the best product.
