We are looking for an experienced Designer to join our Creative Content team here at Harrods on a fixed-term maternity cover for 10-12 months . You will be responsible for designing cross channel elements across Harrods, which focus on both print and digital delivery.
About the Role
As a Designer, you will be comfortable in taking projects from concept to ready for print and taking a brief from stakeholder to delivering the final output. Reporting to the Lead Designer, you will be collaborating across the business to support with business needs. You will have purposeful thinking of what is being communicated on a conceptual level, and use your creativity to solve problems by thinking of multiple channel usage; whilst being innovative within constraints of cost and time.
You will have an advanced understanding of branding and brand consistency, choosing the most suitable style and techniques based on the brief and brand guidelines. You will collaborate with other creative teams within the business, such as Visual Merchandising and Social Media to respond holistically and consistently to briefs.
You will be keeping up with trends in luxury design, and the creative efforts of our major competitors as well as other luxury brands, both in-stores and online. You will mentor junior members of the team, and support our freelancers when necessary.
About You
You will have great working knowledge of printing techniques and you are highly adept with writing printing specs for costing. You will be a strong communicator, with the confidence to build strong relationships across our internal and external stakeholders. You are a proactive problem solver, and thrive in a fast-moving environment tackling several projects and quick turnaround of ad hoc requests.
You will also:
- Be confident with the Adobe Creative Suite (AfterEffects, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Be experienced in presenting design, with experience in Photoshop or Keynote being beneficial.
- Have excellent layout skills and typography.
