DevOps Lead

Harrod’s the world's most famous department store is looking for a talented, driven and experienced DevOps Engineer to join the Digital Technology Team.  You will be responsible for providing support for Digital technology projects and wider IT systems and associated applications

The Harrods DevOps team are responsible for support and overall service of all production and non-production application environments across the digital estate, as well as ownership and management of all associated deployment pipelines.

About the role

As the Lead DevOps Engineer you will lead all day to day operational activities while working hands on alongside the team.

You will need to be proactive, leading a team of DevOps Engineers with investigation and resolution of incidents or requests related to the Digital Technology platforms and systems, integration and third-party components.

You will need experience in manging and maintaining all monitoring tools and alerting mechanisms, ensuring that the systems are monitored and alerts efficiently tuned. You will also own the deployment pipelines across all environments, and coordinate with the Test & Release Manager to ensure releases are planned and scheduled.

About you

To succeed in the role, you will be confident in implementing new ways of working directly within their team and by gaining the support of other areas. You will need to be proactive, leading a team of DevOps Engineers with investigation and resolution of incidents or requests related to the Digital Technology platforms and systems, integration and third-party components.

Specifically, our ideal candidate will have experience in:

• Knowledge of ASP.NET/MVC 5, ASP.NET Core/MVC 6 at Enterprise level (multi server environments, caching, high traffic sites)
• Experience with Docker, Containers and Micro-Services Architecture. · C# using Visual Studio 2018+
• (referrals & recommendations, headhunt, competitors, groups & forums) Advertising strategy · Azure Certification
• Hands on experience of infrastructure as code.
• Experience with Azure infrastructure
• Experience of deploying and monitoring scalable applications
• Extensive hands-on experience in cloud technologies
• Web, Mobile, Cloud and Enterprise Operations experience in a digital or retail environment
• Hands-On Experience with Release and deployment tooling – CI/CD Pipelines (ideally using Azure DevOps)
• Scripting languages such PowerShell, YAML, Python, Pulumi or Terraform
• Experience in Application security & OWASP Guidelines (WAF, Bot Management, Security/Code Scanning).
• Experience in Implementing and Managing CDN and website performance optimisations.
• Azure Automation using ARM templates, Web App, Azure Functions and Logic
• Database maintenance, administration, and performance optimisation concepts
• Experience in delivering in an Agile, SCRUM or Kanban methodology
• Experience of Linux, Apache, Windows Server, IIS, MSSQL, SSIS, SSRS
• Experience of recording and analysing data from Synthetic tests, RUM and W3C metrics.
