Paying close attention to detail, the Junior Copywriter writes succinct, accurate and commercially focused product descriptions, highlighting key features to engage the harrods.com customer.

Based at our in-house studio on City Road, the Junior Copywriter writes up to 40 product descriptions per day across all of our luxury categories – fashion, accessories, childrenswear, home, food and more – and fills out product attributes correctly to ensure a great customer shopping experience.

As a junior member of the team, they will champion the harrods.com tone of voice and maintain a high level of spelling and grammar at all times. Working with our world-class brand offering, he or she will build extensive knowledge of terminology across all categories.

Some weekend work and overtime may be required. 

Principal accountabilities

  • Write an average of 40 product descriptions per day across all categories
  • Spot check for errors on the live site
  • Take part in sub-editing swaps with other juniors to sharpen editorial skills

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Average 40 products per day
  • Average 10% errors in own product copy

Essential criteria

  • Background in writing (education/projects/work experience)
  • Faultless spelling and grammar
  • Good eye for detail and a knowledge of fashion terminology and trends
  • Able to take constructive criticism
  • Strong computer skills
  • Good communication skills and team spirit
