We are recruiting for a Design Admin Assistant to join our Harrods Own Label Team. This role supports the innovative Design work across our Own Label Product range, which is sold in our iconic Knightsbridge store, as well as Online, in Airports and relevant H Beauty sites.

About the Role  

As a Design Admin Assistant, you will support the Design team with all aspects of administration and organisation through the Buying Cycle. You will research and collate areas of inspiration (Designers, Brands, Art, Exhibitions, Trends etc). As well as supporting with preparation for all "Stage and Gate" Meetings, preparing design specs and managing samples.

You will work closely with the Assistant Designer and Designer, contributing to mood boards, concepts, key shapes and colour palettes - all in the name of delivering innovative, best in class ranges across the product category.

Your duties will also include:

  • Working closely with the Buying, Design and Tech teams to ensure deadlines are met and work/outputs are accurate. 
  • Monitoring the Key Dates and assist across the Design team where required.  
  • The organisation of inspirational trips for the Design team ensuring them to be in line with the Key Dates, completing Travel Authorisation Forms and feeding back to the Design Manager. 
  • Visiting the shop floor bi-weekly, observing customers, reviewing other brands, range propositions and feeding back to wider design team. This would include wider Competitive shops. 
  • Being aware of, contributing to, and referencing the commercial documents in place (Shopping List, Range Plan, trade reports, Strategy, Stage and Gate). 
  • Working collaboratively with Buying, Tech and Merchandising throughout the design and development process.
  • Digitising hand drawn sketches where required.


 

About You  

You will have prior experience in an Own Label Design role, specialising in luxury or luxury bridge product. Ideally you will hold a qualification in product design or be able to demonstrate your design experience through another method. You will be able to demonstrate strong understanding of the business & customer, and have be able share working examples of when you have identified and proposed opportunities to add value in response to this.

The ideal candidate will also:

  • Have experience with the Stage and Gate process in line with the Key Dates. 
  • Be highly organised, able to work at pace and efficiently contribute to the Team achieving key dates, deadlines and KPIS.
  • Have a solution orientated mindset, able to work with the Assistant Designer to problem solve. 
  • Be fluent in all relevant design packages but particularly: InDesign, PowerPoint, Illustrator and be confident to translate hand-drawn sketches into the system and ultimately design packs, prepare Line Ups.
  • Strive for constant and consistent communication within the team, especially to the Assistant Designer and Design Manager.
