Butcher Specialist

We’re currently looking for a full-time Butcher to join our vibrant and bustling Food Halls team. The Butcher will be a product expert and be responsible for producing exceptional products and service to delight our customers whilst being a brand ambassador for Harrods.

About the Role 

You’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate cuts, trims, bones, ties, and grinding of meats, using butcher's cutlery and powered equipment, such as electric grinder and band saw. You’ll portion and prepare meat, and be able to break down a forequarter, mid and hind quarter of beef into primal cuts. You’ll guarantee that the produce is stored correctly at all times and carry out temperature checks on the product, recording data in line with food safety standards.

By demonstrating passion and energy for every sale, you’ll ensure that every opportunity to satisfy the customer has been explored. You’ll increase sales by selecting products to meet customer requirements whilst highlighting the features and benefits of the product. You’ll also work closely with the buying team to ensure that customer needs and expectations are being met with the products being stocked.

About You 

With previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant, sales environment or kitchen environment, you’ll have a great knowledge of margins, discounts, waste and shrink to ensure the business is maximising profit from every sale. You’ll be aware what the latest trends are in the market and what our direct competitors are offering. You’ll be accountable for consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
