Data Scientist

We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Scientist to join our Data Science team here at Harrods.  You will be accountable for delivering data science experiments, deploying models following successful experiments, and maintaining and enhancing existing deployed models.

About The Role

As the Data Scientist you will work with stakeholders from Loyalty & CRM, Buying & Merchandising, Food Production, IT, and more. This will involve presenting often to Heads of and other senior department members.

You will also;

·         Collecting, cleaning, and preparing the data for modelling

·         Measuring the statistical effectiveness of models

·         Supporting roll-out of models to new teams via training sessions

·         Contribute to cross-team initiatives to ensure code, pipeline and feature reuse

·         Build a clear understanding of Harrods as a business, and identify new opportunities to apply data science to create value

·         Work with members of the Insights & Analytics team to share best practices and domain knowledge

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of multiple domains of fata science modelling, such as regressions, classification, segmentation and has worked in the scoping of projects. It is important that the candidate has a strong understanding od what data science will or will not be a good answer to a given business problem.

You will also have the following;

·         Strong analytical insights, and a good grasp of statistics through a STEM background or equivalent professional experience

·         Ability to present highly complex results, models, procedures to non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organisation

·         Previous experience development and deployment of predictive models using phyton

·         Familiarity with a cloud platform provider

·         Ability to prioritise work in line with likely business impact
