Assistant Prop Stylist- Food- 6 Month FTC

The Assistant Prop Stylist will act as an essential administrative, operational and creative support to the Props Team that plan and organise photo shoots, specifically for food, for Creative Content across print and digital. They will work closely with the Prop Stylist and Creative Lead to take on responsibilities delegated by them. They will work on the development of ideas and source the necessary props and materials to execute photoshoots across multiple Harrods channels. They must ensure that all work produced is in keeping with Harrods brand guidelines to deliver exclusive and luxurious imagery.

The Assistant Prop Stylist will need to be highly organised and expected to undertake several tasks simultaneously while working to very strict deadlines. Working with us will give you great visibility across the industry and could be the start of a fantastic career.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Selecting product from Harrods departments to be included in photoshoots in accordance with instore stock loan processes.
• Collecting and returning safely all product borrowed from store
• Calling in and returning press samples to brands
• Prop making
• Prop sourcing. Gain experience investigating prop houses for various shoot requirements for food, beauty, lifestyle and fashion
• Working closely with Prop Stylist and Creative Lead on set in a supportive role
• Sending out magazine tears and PDFs to contributors and brands
• Picture Research
• Keeping prop cupboard organised, safe and accessible
• Managing an inventory of stock owned by The Props team
• In putting costs into budget on behalf of the Props team
• Arrange cars and couriers to transport product
• Accompany high value products to various Harrods Prop Storage locations within central London
• Work on collating credits for Harrods Magazines, .com and social
• Work on food shoots for @harrodsfood, sourcing, buying and styling for food shoots
• Administration related to usage of store product
• Working closely with the stock team to manage all stock queries, damages and purchases via SIL (stock internal loan system) and IDTs (internal purchases) and logging on relevant budgets to keep losses and damages at a minimum

You will be a highly organised and motivated individual who works well under pressure and is passionate about photography and creating beautiful content. You’ll have the ability to work to tight budgets and deadlines within a fast-faced environment. Having a competent use of Office, Powerpoint and Excel is essential. You’ll be a natural communicator and confident in prioritising a busy workload. Curious and keen to learn, your enthusiasm and initiative will help you make connections, and you’ll bring the skills to recognise and make the most of the opportunities that will come your way. A keen interest in food, food styling or food photography would be a great asset with many of the above duties feeding in to the production of photographic assets for the @harrodsfood instagram account.
